Replacing the SD card in your unit is required if your SD card becomes corrupted. This usually occurs when the CardBot is switched off or loses power at the wrong time (here's an article about correctly switching off your unit).

Firstly, you'll need to remove the roof. If you haven't done this before, please let us know and we will run you through the process.

With the roof off, locate the SD card slot for the Raspberry Pi (the board at the top of the unit). The Raspberry Pi is circled in the image below and below that is a zoomed in image with an arrow pointing to the SD card slot.

Now, remove the malfunctioning SD card from the Raspberry Pi - grab the SD card and pull it out. It can be a little difficult to grab with your fingers - you may need to use some pliers or something similar. Be careful not to damage the white ribbon cable that runs in front of the SD card and you're pulling it out.

Feel free to hold on to the malfunctioning SD card and use it for your own purposes - it's a useful memory storage device. Otherwise, it can be thrown away.

Finally, insert the new SD card. It needs to be inserted in the orientation shown below (contact points up and towards the back of the unit).

You can now reattach the roof, then power on the unit and run through the initial set up steps for a new unit.
