A step-by-step guide to removing and installing the pump

Replacing the vacuum pump may be necessary if experiencing issues with card pickup. Always reach out to the team to diagnose any issues and determine that the vacuum pump is the cause.

This article outlines the steps to replace your pump, however the exact assembly of the pump may vary between hardware revisions or after upgrades have been installed.

Tools & Parts

  • 1x 7mm Spanner (or pliers)

  • 1x 2.5mm Hex Key

  • 1x Phillips Screwdriver (PH2)

  • 1x Sidecutters

  • 1x Ziptie

Removing the Pump

  1. Take a picture of the pump and surrounding wires for reference

  2. Disconnect the vacuum pump cable

  3. Disconnect the pneumatic tubes

  4. Undo the pump mount bolts using the screwdriver spanner

  5. Slide the pump out through the mounting plate

Installing the New Pump

  1. Slide the pump through the mounting plate, leading with the cable. Ensure the outer port overhangs the frame

  2. Fasten the bolts

  3. Attach pickup head tube

  4. Install silencer tube. Loop underneath and through the hole in the frame, and tuck behind the bolt thread

  5. Connect cable

  6. Ziptie pump cable to pump housing
