IMPORTANT: Always SWITCH OFF and UNPLUG the CardBot before conducting any maintenance. DO NOT TOUCH any of the wiring or circuit boards while the CardBot is plugged into power.

If your CardBot won't turn on, it is likely that the power plug is disconnected from the main circuit board. If the red light on the power switch is on but there are no mechanical/motor noises, following this guide should help.

Items

  • 1 x 2.5mm hex key

Steps

1. Remove the backplate and door - put them aside

2. Locate the plug that connects the socket for the power cord to the main circuit board - you can trace the red/black wiring from the socket to where it plugs in towards the top of the circuit board

3. Ensure this plug is firmly in place

4. With the backplate still removed, plug the power cord back into the machine and switch it on (IMPORTANT: DO NOT TOUCH any of the wiring or circuit boards while the CardBot is plugged into power)

5. Listen for motor/mechanical sounds

6. Check whether the blue LED on the power converter (the small circuit board above the main board) is ON

7. Check whether the red LEDs on the circuit board are ON

8. Check whether the red LED on the Arduino (towards the bottom of the main circuit board) is ON

9. If the motor/mechanical sounds appear normal and all of the LEDs are on, your CardBot should be ready to use* - run a test scan with a small set of cards to ensure everything is operating smoothly

10. Switch off the CardBot and unplug the power cord

*If your CardBot doesn't make any noise or the noises seem unusual, and/or any of the LEDs don't turn on, get in touch with us for further instructions.
