Example #1 “Overstock”
In this first example, you have some leftover stock that you want to break down for singles inventory. This is a great use of the Scan Restrictions feature. Here we would tell the CardBot system that everything we are putting into the machine is from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Marvel Super Heroes, Aetherdrift Commander (along with Aetherdrift to catch the basics and other base set cards in the commander deck)
To do this, we will start a new scan by pairing with the Cardbot and then pressing the Scan Restrictions button.
From here we will select the sets we know this product has come from, this will limit what sets cards will be selected from in the scan process. That pop up will look like this below once configured.
Be sure to hit apply once you have your sets picked out. The Scan Restrictions button should now show that we have a restriction active.
Set any relevant filters like price or rarity and start your scan. The resulting sessions will only include cards from those sets as its selections.
Example #2 “The dirty white box”
In this example, a customer comes in with a box of unknown Magic cards. The customer has no idea what they might be worth but has the information that they stopped playing around 2016. You thumb through the cards and notice that while the cards are from some older sets, there are no white-bordered cards in the collection.
Here we can use a Scan Restriction of Card Features to tell the system we are not putting any White Bordered cards in so don’t select those versions during the scan.
This is done by setting a Scan Restriction and then clicking on the feature to strike-through it. As before, be sure to hit apply once you have the restriction set. The resulting sessions will only include card selections that are not White-bordered.
Example #3 “NOT THE LIST”
Speaking of negative Scan Restrictions, our final example will focus on using them to restrict the CardBot system from selecting cards from The List. This has been one of our most requested features. Here we will set a Negative Scan Restriction by choosing The List from the Set drop down list and once it is selected, clicking on it to strike-through the name.
This setting can be super helpful if you know the stock that you are putting into the machine does not contain cards from The List and shouldn't select those versions during scanning.
